The solution involved Materialise manufacturing custom 3D-printed components, such as a redesigned seat blocker, which achieved EASA Form-1 accreditation and a lead time of just three weeks. The results included significant customization opportunities for airlines, the elimination of tooling expenses, and the ability to produce small series economically.
