A Materialise Case Study
Nissin Manufacturing Co., LTD., a Japanese producer of 3D‑printed prototypes, end‑use metal parts and machine tools for the automotive sector, faced scaling challenges after introducing metal additive manufacturing: language and time‑zone barriers with the machine OEM limited troubleshooting, and rising orders revealed productivity bottlenecks in manual support design, excess powder retention and long post‑processing times. To address this, Nissin implemented Materialise Magics for data and build preparation and engaged local support from Materialise.
Materialise provided hands‑on support and introduced e‑Stage for Metal to automate support generation and optimize parameters. With Materialise’s help, support configuration time fell from just over a day to one hour (an 87.5% reduction), post‑processing and support removal work hours were cut in half, residual powder was easily removed thanks to lattice supports, and operator burden and human error were greatly reduced.
