Securing sensitive data in mailboxes at Databricks

Databricks, the IT & Software company behind a cloud data platform, needed a better way to protect sensitive information sitting in employee mailboxes. Working with Material Security, the team sought to improve visibility into inbox risk and address the reality that phishing and account takeovers can still expose valuable data even when perimeter defenses are in place.

Material Security deployed a zero-trust solution that identifies and redacts sensitive content in mailboxes, while letting users access protected messages through familiar Okta Verify approval. Databricks reported zero downtime, zero user complaints, and no need for a dedicated internal resource to manage the rollout, while also extending MFA-style protection to email data and gaining stronger control over its own isolated data instance.
