Case Study: Lyft Achieves Faster Phishing Response with Material Security

A Material Security Case Study

Preview of the Lyft Case Study

How Lyft significantly decreased the security team’s operational overhead and delivered an enterprise-wide boost to email security, admin visibility and customization, and more efficient phishing attack response

Lyft, the ridesharing giant, needed a faster and more efficient way to respond to phishing attacks without overwhelming its security team or disrupting employee workflows. After struggling with a bloated legacy SOAR tool and manual investigation processes, Lyft turned to Material Security’s email security platform to better protect corporate accounts and high-priority users.

Material Security integrated cleanly with Lyft’s G Suite environment and was deployed to all ~8,000 corporate and partner accounts within a single work week. The platform enabled Lyft to automatically use one employee’s phishing report to protect everyone else, speed up detection and response, and reduce inbox risk, contributing to 99% fewer phishing emails reaching inboxes and a significantly stronger, more streamlined incident response process.
