A Matcha Design Case Study
Matcha Design was hired by Louisiana pop artist Thea Lissi to create a music video for her EP. The challenge was to craft a compelling visual story from 618 GB of raw, unlabeled mobile phone footage that was often blurry, pixelated, and did not fully capture the planned storyboard. Furthermore, some shots contained intrusive elements like a fly and autofocus issues, requiring significant digital correction.
The solution implemented by Matcha Design involved meticulously stitching the usable clips together, then using Photoshop for rotoscoping to sharpen images and remove artifacts. They creatively edited the video to establish a new flow, adding color grading, lighting effects, and a mirror sequence to reinforce the song's theme. The final product was a visually stunning music video that earned Matcha Design a Gold Communication Award for their video editing work.
