Merz Aesthetics, Inc. was struggling with a completely paper-based quality system for procedures, training and other QMS processes, which was labor-intensive and caused delays in releasing updated procedures and recording training. After implementing MasterControl in October 2007 (Documents, Training and Process modules, with CAPA/NCR in Process), Merz reduced paperwork, enabled simultaneous multi‑approver reviews, and cut document change times by over 33%. Training throughput improved via Training Task management, the Document Control/Training headcount dropped from six to three, paper costs and administrative time were reduced, and the system helped the company meet ISO 13485 and GMP requirements while allowing multi‑location users to review documents and complete training electronically.
