Ecolab’s MasterControl System Continues to Grow

Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene and energy services, upgraded its legacy MasterControl document system (used by its medical device unit acquired from Microtek) from v8 to v10.1 and sought to add a formal training module. Key challenges included migrating InfoCard-based legacy training records, importing and validating large training datasets, and meeting the needs of users who lack regular computer access or whose primary language is not English.

Working with MasterControl professional services, Ecolab implemented MasterControl Documents 10.1 and MasterControl Training, simplified the configuration, imported course and exam data, and validated the system. The rollout provided centralized, multi-site document and training control (including Spanish language support for sites such as the Dominican Republic), was executed smoothly, and positioned Ecolab to extend MasterControl to other business units.
