The Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA), an organization serving over 1,000 Midwest manufacturers, faced the challenge of strengthening its members' workforce by introducing modern CAD/CAM instruction into its technology training programs to build a pipeline for skilled trades. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Mastercam and implemented its Mill, Lathe, Swiss, and Dynamic Motion software as a core part of their curriculum.

The solution using Mastercam provided students with exposure to robust 3D toolpaths and Dynamic Motion strategies, which increase tool life and decrease cycle times. This hands-on training built student confidence in CNC programming, with over 175 individuals enrolled. The program successfully prepares workers for their specific machines and builds a talent pipeline for manufacturers, with students often moving directly into jobs at member companies after earning credentials.
