Reed-Custer High School - Customer Case Study

The Industrial Technology program at Reed-Custer High School sought to use its CNC router to manufacture guitars but required software sophisticated enough to machine critical components for proper tuning, yet simple enough to be taught to high school students. To meet this challenge, instructor Mark Smith employed the Mastercam Educational Suite.

Mastercam provided the solution with its easy-to-teach software, which was used to program tool paths for machining precise components like the guitar neck's truss rod access point. This allowed students to successfully build professional-quality guitars while gaining valuable CAD/CAM and manufacturing skills. The program's success is demonstrated by its graduates being well-prepared for manufacturing careers and actively recruited by companies.
