The STCC Summer Camp, run by Springfield Technical Community College, faced the challenge of introducing teenagers to manufacturing and capturing their interest in potential careers without overwhelming them. They partnered with Mastercam and utilized its Mill and Lathe CAD/CAM software to provide a hands-on, engaging experience that demonstrated advanced tools and techniques.

The solution involved a summer camp program where students used Mastercam's intuitive software to design and machine personalized projects, such as engraved name tags and tic-tac-toe boards. This hands-on approach, powered by Mastercam, successfully hooked students on manufacturing, sparking a genuine interest that often led them to pursue formal education in STCC's Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
