Kormachine, a fifth-generation manufacturing firm, faced the challenge of reverse engineering and delivering a large, complex aerospace part made from multiple metals with extremely tight tolerances within a demanding two-week timeframe. To accomplish this, they utilized Mastercam's CAD/CAM software, including its Lathe, Mill, Multiaxis, and Dynamic Motion toolpaths.

The solution with Mastercam involved using its Model Prep function to draft a new solid model from scratch and its OptiRough toolpaths with Dynamic Motion to drastically reduce machining time and tool wear. Mastercam's Verify function ensured cutting accuracy through simulation before sending code to the machine. This approach allowed Kormachine to successfully deliver the part on schedule, with reported significant time savings, extended tool life, and the ability to run their machines at high spindle speeds of 11,000 RPM.
