Desert View High School - Customer Case Study

Desert View High School, located in a lower-income community, sought to build a successful advanced manufacturing program to provide students with valuable skills and a variety of job opportunities. The school's challenge was to create a curriculum that would prepare students for real-world manufacturing careers. With the help of Mastercam software, teacher Cesar Gutierrez aimed to establish a program using industry-standard tools.

The solution was implemented using the Mastercam Educational Suite, which provided a user-friendly platform for students to learn essential CAD/CAM skills. Through strategic partnerships with local manufacturers and the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS), the program offered certifications and hands-on contract work. Mastercam's support and industry relevance helped the program secure nearly two million dollars in equipment funding. The results were highly successful, with students graduating with NIMS certifications, paid internship experience, and a direct pathway to rewarding careers in manufacturing or college.
