Home Office, the UK government department responsible for immigration, passports, crime, counter-terrorism and police, needed to modernize its Immigration Platform Technologies (IPT) programme. It selected Mastek to help deliver two core components of the infrastructure: the Shared Service Bus (SSB) and the Common Data Platform (CDP), supporting key immigration and border services.

Mastek designed, built, tested and delivered the SSB and CDP in line with UK Government Digital Services guidance, using its Enterprise Agile approach. The solution improved data quality with a single person-centric identity view, sped up verification and decision-making through better data sharing, enabled compliance with the 2008 EU Council regulation, and enhanced user experience by supporting secure messaging and online application and payment, reducing fraud risk and cost.
