KVOA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Tucson, Arizona, needed to modernize its news archiving process. The station wanted to increase efficiency, free staff from labor-intensive manual workflows, integrate seamlessly with third-party newsroom tools, and stay within budget, so it turned to Masstech and its Masstech for News solution.
Masstech implemented a newsroom media management system integrated with AP ENPS, Nexio playout servers, and Velocity editing software, allowing users to archive, search, preview, and restore content without leaving the NRCS interface. The result was a major time savings for staff, with KVOA reporting hundreds to thousands of hours saved each year, over 47,000 assets managed, and richer newscasts thanks to easier content reuse.
