U.S. Electrodynamics, Inc. (USEI), a veteran-owned teleport services company based in Brewster, WA, needed a flexible, affordable way to deliver high-quality live television feeds between the U.S., Japan and Europe. Rather than traditional fiber, USEI selected Masergy — deploying the Masergy Global MPLS Network with Private IP/QoS and Masergy’s Intelligent Service Control portal — to support reliable video-over-IP transport and real-time bandwidth control.

Masergy implemented a QoS-enabled global MPLS solution and a web-based control portal that let USEI quickly adjust bandwidth, provision new sites, and maintain uptime for major broadcasters. The result: consistent HD video delivery to the U.S., Japan and Europe (for customers such as J Sports), rapid setup at new locations, and proven resilience — during the March 2011 Japan tsunami Masergy’s circuit re-routed with only 2,000 packets lost (about a one-second glitch) while other networks remained down for days, enabling continued live coverage and new business opportunities for USEI.
