The Regional Transport District (RTD) in Denver faced a challenge in increasing public transit ridership, as private vehicles remained the dominant choice for commuters. A significant hurdle was the "first and last mile" problem, which made transit less convenient. To make its services more accessible, RTD partnered with vendor Masabi to expand beyond its successful agency-branded mobile ticketing app.

Masabi implemented its Justride SDK to integrate RTD's ticketing directly into third-party apps. This allowed riders to seamlessly plan trips and purchase transit tickets within the Uber and Transit applications. The solution made public transit more discoverable and convenient by combining it with ride-hailing, bikeshare, and scooters in a single platform. The results were a 45% increase in overall mobile ticket sales and a 110% year-over-year increase by December 2019. Uber trips connecting to transit stations also rose by 11.6%, demonstrating the success of Masabi's integration in attracting new riders.
