A Marple Case Study
Team Polar, an international collective developing autonomous rovers for extreme environments like Antarctica, faced the challenge of analyzing vast amounts of climate data. They needed to understand harsh conditions to ensure their rover could generate enough energy to operate. This analysis was critical for designing a machine capable of surviving extreme cold, wind, and highly reflective terrain.
Using the Marple platform, the team processed and visualized key climate data, including wind speed, solar irradiance, and albedo. The data-driven insights provided by Marple were crucial, enabling Team Polar to make informed design decisions for the rover, significantly save time on data processing, and reduce the risks associated with its operation in one of the world's toughest environments.
