Creating Memorable Experiences Through Digital Signage

Fashion Island Hotel is a 4-star, 295-room luxury property in Newport Beach with about 450 employees and consistently high occupancy. Their competitive advantage is a long‑tenured, service-focused staff, but keeping a dispersed, multi‑shift workforce—many without email—informed and engaged was a challenge; traditional bulletin boards were manual, slow to update, and hard to maintain.

To solve this they installed Marlin’s Electronic Communication Station (ECS) in the employee café, creating a central digital signage hub with multiple contributors posting HR updates, F&B specials, safety stats, event promos and motivational content. ECS’s remote posting, scheduling, ticker and countdown features made communication faster and easier, reduced paper waste, boosted participation and excitement, and helped preserve the hotel’s collaborative service culture.
