Central Iowa Power Cooperative - Customer Case Study

Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) supplies safe, reliable electric service to nearly 300,000 residents and more than 12,000 commercial accounts, but its workforce is spread across five locations and multiple facilities, making consistent communication a challenge. Leadership wanted a simple, visible safety scoreboard and an “employee information center” to deliver safety updates and HR/corporate messages to all employees, including those without regular email access.

CIPCO deployed the Marlin Electronic Communication Station and built a seven-person content team from HR, Communications and Safety to manage dynamic, visual content—KPIs, videos, automated counters, employee profiles, project updates and celebrations. The screens increased engagement, reinforced safety messages, fostered a stronger sense of one company across locations, generated employee feedback and ideas, and projected a more professional image to visitors, complementing but surpassing email for frontline staff communication.
