Case Study: The World Bank achieves global project transparency and automated geospatial mapping with MarkLogic

A MarkLogic Case Study

Preview of the The World Bank Case Study

The World Bank - Customer Case Study

MarkLogic helps organizations turn failing or over-budget IT projects into award-winning successes. The World Bank wanted to make detailed information about its funded projects easily accessible, searchable and actionable, but needed a mapping system that could ingest diverse data without costly ETL, automatically index and geo-tag locations, and deliver fast, accurate location insights for project operations.

The World Bank built its mapping project on the MarkLogic database, automating geospatial indexing and tagging for more than 1,500 projects across 20,252 locations in 144 countries and publishing the results on public websites. The solution increased transparency and stakeholder engagement, reduced data-integration costs and delays, and helped the World Bank earn recognition as a CIO 100 honoree while continuing to innovate and share best practices.
