A MarkLogic Case Study
The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) delivers research and information that supports national security and the warfighter. Faced with more than 30 disparate structured and unstructured data sources, separate repositories, search engines and security systems, DTIC needed a way to make critical information discoverable, shareable, enriched and secure.
DTIC consolidated systems on a MarkLogic Data Hub, using semantics, tiered storage and advanced, element-level security to ingest and enrich data rapidly while protecting sensitive content. The hub enabled rapid prototyping (four datasets, search and element-level security, and semantic capabilities in six weeks), improved discoverability, connected related projects and reports through semantics, and reduced data ingestion from months to minutes/days.
