Case Study: OECD achieves broader reach and improved global collaboration with MarkLogic

A MarkLogic Case Study

Preview of the OECD Case Study

OECD Reaches New Audiences and Improves Global Collaboration

The Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD) needed a modern platform to serve 40,000 government officials and global audiences with diverse, multilingual content spread across silos — including books, periodicals, datasets and statistics — while enforcing role‑based access and ensuring readability on multiple devices. To address limitations of relational databases and support new publishing and collaboration needs, the OECD chose MarkLogic as the foundation for its O.N.E. and OECD.Kappa information hubs.

Using MarkLogic to integrate structured and unstructured data into a central operational hub, the OECD improved metadata, semantic search, security and scalability to enable faster content ingestion, contextualized discovery and collaborative editing. The result was quicker, more cost‑effective delivery of digital services, a better multi‑device user experience, new applications and channels for publishing, and measurable reductions in time to value and operating costs.
