MVB, together with NEWBOOKS, launched VLB-TIX to deliver up-to-the-minute, personalized new-title information to publishers, booksellers, journalists, libraries and readers. The project faced disparate data sources and complex industry standards, needed to scale with business growth, and hit limits with an inflexible relational database approach.
By moving VLB-TIX onto MarkLogic’s Enterprise NoSQL platform, the team achieved rapid data integration and reliable content delivery with native XML support and built-in search. The solution improved partner collaboration, sped online promotions, enhanced customer experience, shortened development cycles, and now runs on-premise to support ongoing agility and future growth.
