Multimedia Content Provider Streamlines Delivery with a Centralized Platform

The Press Association (PA), the UK’s largest news provider with over 140 years of history, needed to unify a fragmented technology landscape created by multiple businesses and content types—images, video, news, data and more. PA was spending roughly 70% of its time managing and manipulating disparate systems and required a single, XML-capable platform to handle both structured and unstructured content quickly and efficiently.

PA implemented MarkLogic as a central content store, a solution proven during the Olympics when it served over 50 billion requests across 26 languages and 40 territories. The new platform delivered greater flexibility, scalability and security, cut a sample project from up to 100 workdays to 34 (a 66% efficiency gain), and enabled faster product delivery and the creation of services that were previously too complex or costly to build.
