A MarkLogic Case Study
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, one of the nation’s largest nuclear weapon physics and engineering labs, faced fragmented data silos containing vast, unpredictable mixes of structured and unstructured information generated by tests and operations. The lab struggled to discover, link and trace data months after creation, hampering its ability to run efficient, accurate nuclear safety assessments.
LLNL implemented MarkLogic to unify and manage heterogeneous, multi‑terabyte datasets that resisted traditional document systems, fileshares and relational databases. The solution improved discoverability, established data governance and end‑to‑end traceability, simplified integration, and increased operational efficiency—enabling more reliable and timely nuclear safety testing.
