A MarkLogic Case Study
Great American Insurance Group (GAIG), a specialty property and casualty insurer, needed to modernize its P&C IT to rapidly onboard new products and integrate acquisitions. Its decade-old architecture was inflexible and required many simultaneous subject-matter experts, which slowed core operations like policy issuance, claims, reinsurance, reporting and financials.
After successful pilots, GAIG deployed MarkLogic across P&C with architecture and engineering teams led by Donnie Maddox to unify legacy systems and democratize integration tools. The new platform reduced complexity, let developers run more integration projects, cut new-hire ramp time from months to days, and positioned GAIG to scale—supporting new lines like cyber insurance and running five to ten parallel initiatives.
