A MarkLogic Case Study
Condé Nast, a global publisher of 220+ US and international brands, needed to modernize a growing digital archive of 7+ million rich media assets. The existing DAM suffered from very slow search (up to ~30 seconds per 100 results), frequent developer involvement for metadata and category changes, and long development cycles—leading editors to outsource asset sourcing and delaying editorial workflows.
Using MarkLogic, Condé Nast built a custom DAM that delivers sub‑second search, intuitive faceted interfaces and search‑suggests, and robust metadata management that lets archivists and editors create categories without developers. The new system sped development, cut costs and asset‑licensing spend, streamlined processes, and enabled rapid creation of custom editorial collections.
