Case Study: Boeing achieves secure data discovery, improved traceability, and scalable Model-Based Systems Engineering with MarkLogic

A MarkLogic Case Study

Preview of the Boeing Case Study

Boeing Uses MarkLogic to Securely Discover and Share Data, and Drive Efficient Model-Based Systems Engineering

Boeing, a leading aerospace manufacturer, turned to MarkLogic to address massive volumes of data and pervasive data silos that were impeding discovery and secure sharing among employees, operators and suppliers worldwide. The lack of contextual linkage across datasets also slowed Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) workflows and made policy and traceability requirements harder to meet.

By using MarkLogic to unify, govern and secure metadata and policies—and to provide semantic linking without managing huge numbers of triples—Boeing created a centralized policy store and high‑performance MBSE platform that scales with historical data. The implementation delivered streamlined global security, improved scalability and query performance, stronger data governance and traceability to support airworthiness and faster policy search and trend identification.
