A Markforged Case Study
Wilson Benesch, a family‑owned British high‑end audio manufacturer and early adopter of carbon fiber composites, needed state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing to push the design and performance envelope for its next‑generation GMT ONE System turntable. To produce complex, high‑performance components quickly and repeatedly for a six‑figure retail product, Wilson Benesch selected Markforged and its Digital Forge additive manufacturing platform (with support from reseller Additive‑X) to complement its CNC and composite suites.
Using Markforged’s fleet and Digital Forge, Wilson Benesch produced carbon‑doped nylon parts reinforced with carbon fiber in complex 3D geometries that traditional methods couldn’t achieve, delivering greater stiffness, improved energy damping and reduced mass. The result: faster development and time‑to‑market (prototyping cycles shrank from a week or more to just a few hours), the ability to realize new product architectures that “wouldn’t exist without Markforged,” and the high build and finish quality required for the GMT ONE System.
