A Markforged Case Study
Stanley Black & Decker faced a challenge with a complex actuator housing that was originally a four-part assembly, requiring significant manufacturing and engineering time. They worked with Markforged and its Metal X printer to redesign the part for additive manufacturing.
Markforged provided a solution by redesigning the housing to be printed as a single, support-free piece. This reduced the part's complexity and eliminated the need for assembly. The result was a part that proved durable through tens of thousands of cycles, achieving a 20x faster production time and a 12x lower cost for Stanley Black & Decker.
