Case Study: SQP Engineering protects tools and streamlines workshop access with Markforged additive manufacturing

A Markforged Case Study

SQP Engineering equips its 10-person team with Markforged FX20, X7 and Metal X printers

SQP Engineering, a Western Australian supplier of precision-machined products, faced the challenge of organizing tools for its machine operators in line with its Lean manufacturing process. The company needed a solution that would provide direct access to tools while fully protecting them from damage. To address this, SQP Engineering used its Markforged FX20 printer and Onyx material to create custom tooling racks in-house.

Markforged's additive manufacturing solution allowed SQP to produce bespoke tool holding racks that perfectly support the substantial weight of each tool set without distortion. This provided an all-encompassing solution that basic metal shelves could not, as it ensured every tool was fully protected when not in use. The implementation of this solution expanded the company's additive manufacturing production capacity and played a major role in its future growth.
