KST Moschkau GmbH is a family‑managed media production and systems integrator in Düren, Germany, that designs and manufactures Broadcast & ProAV and AV security hardware. When demand for their KST‑OH outdoor Panasonic PTZ camera housing exceeded expectations, their CNC‑outsourced process—multiple aluminum plates, many assembly steps, high iteration costs, and exposure to supplier delays—proved unscalable for small-series production. As a Markforged customer, they evaluated additive manufacturing using the Markforged FX20 and Onyx to address these challenges.

KST Moschkau moved production in‑house on the Markforged FX20, printing three components per 525×400×400 mm build and enabling rapid iteration. The change cut lead time from 3–4 weeks to 2 days and reduced total production cost for the three‑part camera mount to about $443 (roughly one‑sixth the previous cost), while Onyx delivered excellent surface finish, toughness, and outdoor durability with only slightly lower weight than aluminum. By adopting Markforged, KST gained faster turnaround, lower cost, and greater control over their supply chain and prototyping.
