Eaton cuts adapter cost 4x and speeds production 41x with Markforged

The customer, Eaton, faced a challenge in fabricating a durable stanchion adapter for their assembly line tooling. Their previous attempts using welded and machined polycarbonate adapters failed under cyclic loading. Eaton turned to Markforged, using a Markforged 3D printer to solve this problem.

Markforged's solution was to 3D print a composite stanchion adapter using Onyx material reinforced with Fiberglass. This new part outperformed all previous iterations. The results were a 41x faster production time and a 4x lower cost when compared to machining the part from aluminum.
