Dayco, a global leader in drive systems for automotive, construction, agricultural, and industrial markets, faced pressure to reduce expenses, speed up tooling and prototyping, and maintain precision for complex under‑hood assemblies. To free skilled labor and CNC capacity, lower tooling inventory and operational costs, and accelerate proof‑of‑concepts, Dayco adopted Markforged’s 3D printing platform, using materials such as Onyx and Continuous Carbon Fiber for tooling and fixtures.

Using Markforged 3D printers, Dayco produced a profile gauge that halved production time (from 200 to about 100 hours) and cut cost by 57%—from $3,500 for machined aluminum to $1,500 for the printed part—while delivering the surface finish and dimensional accuracy required. Markforged’s solution freed CNC resources, increased throughput and prototyping speed, and reduced inventory and operational expenses, providing clear, measurable savings.
