Dana Incorporated, a Fortune 500 supplier of drivetrain and e-Propulsion systems, needed to create precise fixtures for quality testing. Their challenge was to produce conformal, non-marring, and exact fixtures for their cooler workholding application with more accuracy and repeatability than their previous method of using gauge blocks. To solve this, they utilized a Markforged X7 3D printer.

The solution implemented by Markforged enabled Dana to 3D print these critical CMM fixtures on-demand. This replaced their previous subtractive manufacturing process that required machining them from aluminum blocks. The Markforged technology provided the exacting standards required, making the quality testing process more accurate and repeatable for the team's internal use.
