Centerline Engineered Solutions cuts tooling costs 8x with Markforged

Centerline Engineered Solutions, a fabricator of formed steel parts, faced a challenge where the high cost of traditionally machined press brake punches and dies made many small production runs financially unviable. To overcome this, they partnered with vendor Markforged to adopt industrial 3D printing for their tooling.

By using Markforged's technology to print tooling out of Onyx reinforced with steel inserts, Centerline created the necessary forming tools at a vastly lower cost and with much greater speed. This solution from Markforged resulted in a punch and die that was 7x faster to produce and cost 8x less than their previous method.
