Cabin Management Solutions (CMS), a Texas-based designer and manufacturer of cabin management systems for jet aircraft, faced a challenge when replacing aging systems. They needed to produce low-volume, high-value nylon parts that were extremely expensive and time-consuming to manufacture using conventional methods. To solve this, they turned to vendor Markforged and its Onyx FR material.

The solution implemented by Markforged involved using 3D printing to produce these parts, including housings, brackets, and a cover for their Cabin Manager Unit. By utilizing the flame-retardant Onyx FR material, CMS achieved lower costs and significantly accelerated lead times for part production.
