Bremar Automotion, a specialized engineering design company, faced the challenge of producing a custom reverse gear for a performance car where space was extremely limited. Traditional manufacturing methods were too slow and expensive for this intricate, low-volume component. Bremar used its in-house Markforged Metal X 3D printer to address this issue.

Using the Markforged solution to print the part in 17-4PH stainless steel, Bremar achieved significant results. This included a cost reduction of over 50%, saving more than $600 per part, while also producing a gear that was lighter and offered greater design flexibility.
