A Markforged Case Study
Arrow Global turned to Markforged and its Mark Two 3D printer to expand heavy‑duty prototyping and produce manufacturing workholding more quickly and affordably. Faced with long lead times and high costs for machined jigs—one example being a $400 part with a two‑and‑a‑half week lead time—they needed durable, low‑scratch fixtures suitable for repeated assembly use.
Markforged’s Mark Two enabled Arrow Global to print parts over a weekend, achieving up to 99% faster turnaround and 99% lower cost compared with traditional machining. A previously machined $400 part was replaced by a printed equivalent accepted by the shop floor, and nylon jigs have been used for nearly 1,000 cycles with no visible wear while preventing scratching—demonstrating measurable improvements in cost, speed, durability, and part protection.
