The Other Bird Restaurant Group, a hospitality group based in Hamilton, Ontario, faced rising complexity in managing food costs: pricing on inventory was hard to keep current, staff spent hours maintaining Excel spreadsheets, and they needed a solution usable by employees with limited tech experience. To address this, they evaluated cloud-based systems and selected MarketMan for inventory and purchasing management.
MarketMan was implemented as a user-friendly cloud inventory platform with a clear dashboard, mobile ordering, and the ability to digitize paper order guides, cutting manual inputs and spreadsheet work. As a result of MarketMan’s solution, The Other Bird Restaurant Group saved about 6 hours per week on inventory sheets and achieved an 8–10% reduction in COGs (10% cited in the headline), with improved weekly cost visibility and fewer errors.
