OLX, a global leader in classified ads with millions of monthly visits and strong mobile traction in Romania, wanted a more personalized way to drive app downloads. The challenge was to deliver the right message at the right time to mobile visitors to increase app installs without disrupting the browsing experience.
Using Omniconvert, OLX ran a 14-day on-load personalization test for mobile users in the Muntenia region that combined 20 local images with four time-of-day message variations. The location- and time-targeted banners lifted app download rates by 60% with over 99% statistical significance, and the successful approach was rolled out to other regions.
