Proteus Inc., a nonprofit delivering home energy efficiency services from Visalia, CA, was struggling to track materials across a growing energy division (68 staff, 33 crew/supervisor trucks, warehouse and mobile warehouse). Their paper-based processes and inadequate inventory software made it hard to enforce the strict budget and inventory rules required by their funding sources. To solve this, Proteus deployed MarginPoint’s Mobile Inventory management solution.
MarginPoint replaced paper lists with mobile tracking, daily material visibility, min‑max stocking levels, restricted return/cycle‑count permissions, and standardized issue sheets for billing. As a result, Proteus reduced inventory errors and unnecessary return trips to jobsites, improved accountability and billing accuracy, and realized measurable time and cost savings (including rapid transfer of inventory between trucks by the next business day). Proteus cites better customer service and faster issue resolution after implementing MarginPoint.
