A Marfeel Case Study
The South African, a multi-platform news site serving over two million monthly unique visitors worldwide, was struggling with a slow, outdated mobile experience that hurt monetization and drove high bounce rates. To address these issues it partnered with Marfeel and selected Marfeel’s enterprise mobile platform to replace the old site and improve mobile performance and revenue while preserving existing revenue-generating features.
Marfeel implemented a dynamic, multi-screen mobile strategy with Google AMP, Facebook Instant Articles, one-point ad-network integration, an SSP aggregating millions of premium ads, and retained Taboola and custom widgets to boost discovery and engagement. The results were measurable: mobile page views rose to 4 million, pages per visitor increased from 1.2 to 2.05, time on site grew from 45 seconds to 1 minute 21 seconds, and bounce rate dropped from 87% to 61% — demonstrating Marfeel’s clear impact on both engagement and monetization.
