Marcum Technology Helps Client Avert Crisis and Creates Road Map for a Hospital Focusing on Automation, Availability and Elasticity

Leading Science and Technology University, a nationally recognized health, science and technology university with multiple health sciences schools, specialty hospitals, and community care sites, turned to Marcum LLP when its IT team needed a technology roadmap for one hospital. The challenge was to modernize infrastructure to support automation, availability, and elasticity so the organization could enable agile application deployment and better IT experiences for doctors and patients.

Marcum LLP assessed the hospital’s VMware environment, analyzed servers, storage, networking, backups, and disaster recovery needs, and used RVTools and modeling software to design a future-state Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) architecture. The engagement delivered a documented roadmap and strategy, helped avert a potential storage-cluster crisis and data loss, and led to a follow-on implementation project where the recommended HCI solution was installed.
