Marcum Helps Nonprofit Restore Confidence in its Accounting System

Leading Alternative Energy Provider, a nonprofit in the alternative energy sector, turned to Marcum LLP after its external auditors identified a material weakness in internal controls in its year-end report. The organization needed to restore confidence in its accounting and finance function while preparing for major system changes, including a new accounting platform and improved workflows.

Marcum LLP implemented Sage Intacct, moved accounts payable to a web-based system, and helped integrate Fluxx grant management and HubSpot CRM with the new accounting environment. Marcum also supported inventory, e-commerce, and warehouse transitions, assisted with the 2018 audit, and documented the new processes in an accounting manual. The result was improved internal controls, clean 2018 audit reports, and all new systems live by Q1 2019, with the client continuing to rely on Marcum as a trusted advisor.
