Maxar Identifies Areas of User Interest With Web Map Analytics

Maxar, a leading Earth imagery company, wanted better insight into how developers were using its Maps API and which parts of its web maps were most valuable to potential customers. Working with Maptiks and its web map analytics platform, Maxar aimed to understand user behavior, improve website funnels, and identify the map areas and platforms that mattered most.

Using Maptiks web map analytics, including heat maps and activity metrics like bounce rate, zoom, pan, and time on map, Maxar identified high-interest regions such as Guyana, Georgia, and Turkey, and saw that Mapbox outperformed LeafletJS and OpenLayers with a 1% bounce rate versus 52% and 60%. Maptiks helped Maxar focus imagery updates more precisely, save hundreds of thousands of dollars, and better target marketing efforts while improving the user experience.
