Canal Walk, the largest shopping centre in Cape Town, needed a digital indoor mapping solution to help visitors find stores and services, navigate multi-floor layouts during busy holiday periods, and maintain up-to-date location and promotion information. To meet those needs and ensure seamless website integration and consistent branding, Canal Walk chose Mappedin and its Responsive Web App V2.
Mappedin embedded the Responsive Web App V2 as a branded, 3D interactive map with Smart Search, multi-floor wayfinding, turn-by-turn directions, a CMS for real-time edits, and analytics on searches and location selections. The implementation improved shopper discovery, enabled promotion of deals and events in real time, and provided insights to target advertising—boosting visitor engagement and driving increased foot traffic during peak shopping periods.
