Macerich Increases Digital Touchpoints

Macerich, an S&P 500 leader in retail real estate, wanted to modernize shopper experiences by adding robust digital touchpoints and intuitive wayfinding across its portfolio. To address this, Macerich partnered with Mappedin to roll out Mappedin’s Dynamic Directory Plus as a scalable, interactive mapping solution for guests at its shopping centers.

Mappedin implemented Dynamic Directory Plus in 19 Macerich malls using optimized, full‑screen 3D maps on double‑sided kiosks—one side for interactive wayfinding and the other for full‑motion advertising. The deployment supports smart search, offline mode and multilingual UI, and can include up to 16 two‑sided directories per property (potentially as many as 304 kiosks across those sites), giving retailers new channels to reach shoppers and delivering a more seamless navigation experience for guests.
