The Australian Grand Prix Corporation, organiser of the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park and the MotoGP™ at Phillip Island, needed a way to help hundreds of thousands of fans navigate large, dynamic event sites and receive real-time updates (including emergency reroutes during severe weather). To solve this, they worked with Mappedin using its Responsive Web Application plus features like Blue Dot for live location and the Map Editor for on-the-fly map changes.
Mappedin delivered embedded, interactive circuit maps that let attendees search, save grandstand sections, follow turn-by-turn directions, and access enriched location content; organisers used the Map Editor to close flooded areas and redirect crowds in real time. The solution drove major engagement—over 213,000 unique map sessions at the 2022 F1 event and 327,000 sessions in 2023 (an increase of 100,000+ year-over-year)—while increasing repeat website visitors and improving overall fan wayfinding and safety.
