Helping Students Find Their Way to Class at Bowie State University

Bowie State University needed a web-based wayfinding solution to help new and returning students navigate indoor and outdoor campus spaces and to provide interactive directories at key locations. To meet this need they partnered with Mappedin, implementing the Mappedin Responsive Web App along with Digital Directories, Mobile Pass, multi-building wayfinding and the Mappedin Map Editor.

Mappedin embedded the Responsive Web App into Bowie State’s website, deployed Digital Directories with QR-based Mobile Pass for touchless handoff to phones, and provided a single Map Editor for real-time updates across platforms. The result is accessible, searchable campus maps that let students pre-plan routes and get on-the-go directions, with administrators able to update locations once and push changes instantly; Bowie State reports improved navigation for faculty, staff, students and visitors.
